That's what industry experts and some Detroit officials are saying about the chance that the -Public Lighting Authority could opt to use high-pressure sodium lights instead of light-emitting diode lights, or LEDs, in some areas of the city in its effort to get darkened streets lit. The decision will boil down to money. Although LEDs come with much higher upfront costs, they would save cash in the long run, experts said.
